According to multiple sources, the Mets are in advanced discussions to acquire a top-tier starting pitcher, aiming to strengthen their rotation after a season plagued by inconsistency on the mound. The Mets are reportedly seeking a proven ace to complement their rising star, Kodai Senga.



Alongside bolstering their pitching staff, the Mets are also placing a heavy emphasis on adding power to their lineup. With Pete Alonso on the urge as a free agent , the front office is actively pursuing a veteran slugger to fill the void and bring additional stability to the offense. David Sterns the Mets’ President remains focused on reshaping the roster in response to the team's disappointing finish to the 2024 season. In a statement, Sterns emphasized the need for significant upgrades: “Our goal is to make the right moves to position the team for success in 2025. Pitching and power are our main priorities, and we are fully engaged in securing both.”
