Day reset could bring mets back into a rythem

Tonight at Citi Field, the New York Mets, with a record of 42-39, aim to revitalize their performance after a difficult stretch, as they compete against the NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers, who currently hold a record of 48-33, at 7:10 PM ET. Following a challenging road trip that saw them lose 12 out of 15 games, including two significant losses to the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Mets' season has reached a crucial point.

Following a challenging 9-2 defeat in Pittsburgh on Saturday, the Mets convened a private meeting exclusively for the players within the visiting clubhouse. Several players, perhaps six or seven, engaged in discussion, including key figures such as Lindor, Alonso, and Soto, with the aim of helping the team overcome this difficult period. While not entirely focused on motivational speeches, the conversation centered on taking accountability and maintaining unity, which Lindor described as "part of the adversity we are dealing with."

It seems we are all witnessing the team members' discussions, and it appears that everyone is encountering comparable circumstances, which cultivates a feeling of solidarity. The shortstop brought this to attention, drawing a parallel to the meeting last May that marked the beginning of their NLCS run.Regarding the team's performance, the first baseman identified some underlying issues, stating that the team's overall gameplay, including offense, defense, and baserunning, has not been at its best, and they are not performing to their full capabilities.

Moreover, notwithstanding his remarkable performance, boasting a .326 average and a 1.214 June OPS, Soto kindly urged his teammates to uphold their faith, a message that carries significant weight, especially considering the team's recent downturn in performance. Alright, so here's the deal: The Brewers are feeling good, having won five in a row at home. The Mets have the talent, right? Soto's hitting, Alonso's power, Lindor's energy, but they're not clicking. If they get their act together on today , Citi Field could get loud again. Otherwise, their season might fall apart before the All-Star break. So tonight is a deal breaker here we .Just get these wins or we are in real big trouble.
