Sale has been checked the mets out 5-0

Last night at Truist Park, the Atlanta Braves secured a 5-0 victory against the New York Mets, resulting in the Mets' fifth consecutive loss, marking their longest losing streak of the season. Chris Sale, the Braves' pitcher, delivered a dominant performance, pitching 8 2/3 innings, allowing only five hits and one walk while striking out seven. This outstanding performance brought his ERA down to an impressive 0.86 over his last six starts. The Braves' offense was bolstered by home runs from Ronald Acuña Jr. and Matt Olson.

Acuña started the game with a 419-foot leadoff homer in the first inning, and Olson added a solo shot in the seventh, his 15th of the year. Additionally, Atlanta gained an extra run due to a catcher's interference call in the first inning. Raisel Iglesias then secured the shutout by recording the final out.

Despite holding the top position in the NL East with a 45-29 record, the Mets' offensive performance faltered against Sale, managing only five hits. Although Jeff McNeil extended his on-base streak to 20 games, the longest active streak in the majors, it did not facilitate a comeback. This victory allowed the Braves, now at 33-39, to narrow the division standings gap.

This game showed how the Braves and Mets are always going at it in the NL East, and the Braves are trying to keep the good times rolling tonight, June 19, hoping to win the whole series.
